Has anyone ever delivered phonebooks for Yellowbook? how much did you make? Was it worth the money? Any tips or advice? Thanks.
Yellowbook delivery job?
My old roommate delivered some kind of phonebook and they had a bunch of different routes he could choose from (some paid $350 and some up to $650 or $700 I think, and some in between). Well he picked the one that paid the most, and ended up with the biggest route (duh!). He used his parents minivan and he said it looked all weighed down in the back!
Reply:I worked for Yellowbook calling people to see if they received their book. You only earn about $0.26 per book delivered plus an additional amount which isn't much, so in order to make any money you'd have to deliver thousands of books per week. It's back breaking work, you have to load your own books into a van and return with a book that you filled out showing you've delivered. Then people take those books and call every person to make sure they got the book, then once they have been confirmed you only get paid on the ones that said they received it.
Reply:i did as a teenager with some cousins a few summers.. it was not worth it having to split the money b/c it really is hard work. you have to bag each book and i am not sure if they still do this but there are inserts that go in the bags as well in some areas. then you have to load them back up (mind you this is after loading them into your vehicle then unloading them at you house to put in the bags) then you have to go find the address and drive around all day and if you have no help its you getting in and out of the car to take the bags to the doors. the best way to do it to have a team but like i said you have to split the income and those books get super heavy. if you aren't doing a huge ammount then you wont really see a profit for you time and not to mention for dealing with the heat while doing it.
Reply:waste of time and you can not move up in the company. anything you do in life you need to position yourself where you can move up if possible..I have made alot of money working with the internet and staying home with the kids. Free to join and I am moving up. sweetspiderweb.ws
Reply:years ago my brother in-law did..got 10 cents per book...had my sister drive while he dropped them off at the houses..nothing to it he said...with todays gas prices i cant say and i dont know what the pay is..but all he did was either put it on the dorr step or between the two front doors..took him a few days to do it
Reply:not me, but my friend has, he was always trying to pawn his job on me, he hated it and it didn't make much money at all. Mc Donalds pays better, still sucks, but you get much more money working fast food, (if you just need spending cash)
Reply:nope, dont think i have ever delivered yellowbooks
Reply:I've done it. Totally not worth the time or the money! Don't do it!!!
