How much extra does it cost on your car insurance to use your car in your job, such as delivery driver in UK?

If you are using your vehicle for delivery, you probably need commercial plates and commercial insurance on it. Ask your agent.

ask the insurance company
Reply:Try a specialast Company - you may be surprised how cheap they are. I am a Driving Instructor and I use Waveney - I probably pay less than you do now!! Tel 01603 753888
Reply:To drive to/from work, not much. To drive while at work, eg delivering pizza, courier, etc, costs LOTS.
Reply:different companies vary, Norwich Union dont charge at all. You need to ask for Class 1 cover
Reply:loads. it sounds as though you arent just using your own car to travel to your place of work..that would probably only add 20-25%

to your policy. if you are using your car as your business..i.e.delivering parcels, then that would constitute a business in the eyes of the vultures and cost you a fortune!!! this is why a lot of companies pay a reasonable rate to 'contractors' to do their deliveries, and mini cab firms make their drivers pay their own insurance..hope this helps.brian
