I would like to be a Delivery Driver.. Can anyone help me with any info in how to get into this kind of job?

I Love driving and really could see myself in this kind of occupation.


I hold a full uk Drivers licence and have done for: 13 years.


I don't mind what i deliver, Flowers, food, parcels, electrics... Anything!


I see women in these kind of jobs every day but how do I get into it?


Do i need any special requirements? Please Help thank you. Any advice or agency's would be Welcomed.

Next time you see one of those vans, read the name, look em up in the phone book, go there, and apply for a job as a delivery driver. Or just look up a courier service and go apply there; you will deliver, pick up, all sorts of driving. As long as your driving record is pretty clean you shouldn't have too many issues.

most delivery jobs will require you to have you own transport aswell as the licence. if you dont have your own transport you may struggle.





loads of non-chain take-away places (like chinese, pizza n curry places) need delivery drivers. they advertise in the shop window mainly. just look around for them.
Reply:I work for a courier firm all you need to do is go on the website and follow the links but to be honest with you at the minute all of our drivers have nearly gone and we employ lifestyle couriers now whcih we bring on from a driving firm not sure the name of it but I would like to do this sort of job to.
Reply:you have to be quick when your going to deliver something


don't forget to smile in front of your customers


be friendly and this will make them trust you more and more


don't make any action if the costumers were in bad mood or if they shoot on you try always to be calm because later they will regret.
Reply:I'm with Joe on this one. I mean, you are setting the bar pretty low for yourself. Who knows, maybe, one day you will aspire to clean hotel rooms. Good luck. Say, you think you can get a fresh pizza to me? There's an extra five in it for you if you can get it to me in under ten minutes.
Reply:if you want to get in with fedex you have to work in the wharehouses for at least 6 months then apply. unless you have previous experience driving. you need a clean driving record of at least 2-3 years. no tickets no ccidents no dui nothing. i think thats all you need. if theres more im sure someone will offer some guidance. good luck

I suppose, though, if you started your own business doing it, it could go places.
