Is pizza delivery a good job?

How bad is it on your car? Do you make pretty good money?
Is pizza delivery a good job?
Not according to insurance agents, they hate them because they're high risk drivers (always hurrying and are more prone to accidents and tickets) and usually cancel you if they find out you're a pizza delivery person. I worked for State Farm and that's a dirty word to them, pizza delivery driver. I know one guy came in to drop off his monthly insurance payment and had the pizza delivery thing on top of his car and he was cancelled fast. Then there's getting robbed because you're carrying money, and are alone on most of your deliveries so you're a target. And if you're late or the pizza isn't right, you get yelled at alot. So my answer is no, its not a good job. Why would anyone want to do it? :)
Reply:CB is right.

Not to mention that you'll wreak the car's interior and have it smell of grease and cheese. If your in a small "nice" town and have no other options go for it. It should be safe enough. But if your in a larger area then skip this job and save your gas money and the mileage on your car aswell.
Reply:I delivered pizza for about 8 months, I drove a 91 honda civic, great on gas. When the prices were low I made lots of money. I live in a smaller town. I worked for pizza pizza and got paid a good base pay and I would work 20 hours a week sometimes (only 2 days) Friday 10h Saturday 10h and at the end of Saturday night I would have average $400 cash in my pocket. Not bad at all if your younger. You don't have to speed like CRAZY (I never really did and never had any late pizzas). Most of the time the pizza is late because of the cooks error thus the store paying for it not you which most people do not know. All in all I think it is a great job! Best job I ever had so far. Its not to bad on your car just don't beat your car that's all
Reply:Doubt you make good money at all. I mean, youll make what, $2 bucks or so in tip on a delivery. Since you're using your own car and gas, you'll get tipped enough to cover gas and wear and tear, with no real profit. Not to mention that if the cooks mess up the order, its your fault, if they take too long making the pizza or theres traffic, you probably get less of a tip. Not to mention you might get shot.
Reply:No, it is not a good job. It cannot be worth the extra wear and tear on your car. Money schmoney. What will you make, twenty bucks in tips a night?
Reply:Can't you aspire to more that a pizza guy? I understand time's are hard, but even Spiderman got fired from being a delivery dude.
Reply:not a good job, but at least its a job for the troubled times as of right now. So its better than nothing. More companies and businesses are firing and laying off people than hiring.
Reply:/* based on what ive heard, its not. you have to pay your own gas and not payed well, to my knowledge *\
Reply:Well for a starting off job its okay money, but i wouldn't say it was a "great" full time job
Reply:the tips are good
Reply:I'd rather flip burgers
Reply:yes its a good job

maybe one day u can be a spiderman ;p
Reply:depends where you live at
